4 Cores in Smart Phones!?

With smart phones having more and more technology crammed into them all the while getting smaller and smaller, the questions of are the current processors powerful enough to handle all of the tech, is a pretty important question. But no need to fear, Nvidia has come to the rescue with their plan for their “Tegra” chip series. Just a few weeks ago at CES the Motorola Atrix was announced which contained Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processer that made it the first phone with a dual core processor. This helped it to win its title as one of the Best of CES and multiple other rewards. Apparently this was not enough for Nvidia so they have released a schedule for 2 more chips, the Tegra 2 3D and the Tegra 3. As the name suggests, the Tegra 2 3D supports 3D playback and it has a maximum speed of 1.2 GHz. The Tegra 3 on the other hand is set to be the world’s first smart phone processor that has four cores and it is set to be released this fall!! With Processors like these smart phone makers and consumers will never have to worry again about their phone being to slow!
